The truth is in here... maybe!It's called the X-Phile because it's at the end and X is short for "Exit".
We can bung in here any odd snippets that we feel don't quite fit elswhere.
<B>We try to produce AtariPhile to look good in all video modes, but obviously leaning towards the higher resolutions. If, in colour mode, you think things are not looking quite right it may be because CAB still does not handle forced colours correctly accross 16 and 256 modes. Eg: The command 'gray' gives a nice light grey in 16 colour mode but a dark gray in 256. Likewise 'silver' gives the light grey in 256 colour mode yet it's white in 16 colours. We can't win!<BR> To see <B>AtariPhile</B> at it's best set your CAB Display Options to:<BR>
- Window - Light Grey
- Text - Blue
- Links - Red
- And switch off 'use document settings'
- Text - Blue
Issue #3 of AtariPhile is due in August. Where
possible we will try to stick to the release month, but be patient
with us if we ever run a little late. In other words...
Expect it when you see it!!! You know it's gonna be worth the wait.
You can expect a special feature on File Sellectors, from early TOS to Freedom. Just about every selector is covered.
The Star.Accessories section will continue with either Kev's or Roger Derry's fave duo. Don't forget to let us know if you want to write for this section... or any other part of AP for that matter.
Hopefully we will have a full review of Positive Image and, if Kev pulls his finger out, a review of NVDI 4 [it was going to be in AP#1, wasn't it Kev?].
Issue #3 is due in August(ish) 1996
AtariPhile is available to non-members. We require a formatted Double Density disk, a Self Addressed Envelope and TWO first class stamps [one for return postage and one towards our costs] per issue. Make sure you put enough stamps on the package to cover delivery - we refuse underpaid packages. Non-UK residents should send International Postage Coupons. AtariPhile is also available from 42BBS [on 01256-895106], Goodman's PD library [on 01782-335650], Floppyshop PD library [on 01224-312756] and the FaST Club [on 0115-945 5250].
Falcon FacTT File members should continue to supply a High Density disk to receive the full FFF package when they update there listing entry. You can of course also have just the <B>AtariPhile</B> for which you only need to send a DD disk with ONE stamp [wow, a discount for members!] and envelope per issue. Again, we will accept up to six months of disks in advance.
